Historic weapons belonging to Napoleon, Brigham Young and others set to fetch millions at QC auction

In December, collectors will bid on historic works of art at Rock Island Auction Societyit is First firearms event from December 3 to 5.

Highlights, according to a press release from Rock Island Auction Company, will include:

  • Napoleon garnish
    • Estimated price before auction: $1.5M – $3.5M
  • Pistol of King Louis XIII
    • Estimated price before auction: $120,000 – $250,000
  • Major General Emory Upton’s Colt Single Action Army Revolver
    • Estimated price before auction: $250,000 – $450,000
  • Sterling Silver Winchester 1866
    • Estimated price before auction: $400,000 – $650,000
  • Rifle belonging to Mormon leader Brigham Young
    • Estimated price before auction: $75,000 – $150,000
  • Colt Detective Special
    • Estimated price before auction: $50,000 – $75,000
  • Rifle of Anglo-American adventurer Sir Henry Morton Stanley
    • Estimated price before auction: $40,000 – $65,000

Event and auction details

Rock Island Auction Company will hold a Preview Day the previous Thursday and items will be sold Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Preview and auction days are open to the public.

Interested buyers can bid in person or live from the web page using a virtual platform, RIAC live. Entrants may bid through third-party websites that host the auction.

Mail-order offers may be submitted to the RIAC via the website, by email, by fax, by telephone or by post in a mail-order offer form. Bidders must be registered to bid prior to the auction.
